In 2004, Living Hope set in motion an outreach program through the Kinilian Project, wherein we give weekly values formation and teachings on God, our Faith, and Christian living to children from an impoverished community in Barangay Pineda, Pasig City. Since then, our small community in the said barangay has expanded and the ones who started as kids, now teenagers, help us in ministering to the children.
We go where there is great and urgent need for love and encouragement. We visit various underprivileged sectors and meet street children, kids with special needs, the sick, the orphans, the abandoned elderly, the prisoners, and victims of natural calamities where they are. It is because of our burning desire to reach out, do more and help more people that Living Hope established the LH GIVING HOPE FOUNDATION.
Our first endeavor under GIVING HOPE FOUNDATION is a feeding program for young public school students, Project Food For Thought. In January 2013, we started our daily feeding program with 100 students in Pineda Elementary School. It aims to satisfy the physical hunger of poor children who cannot afford to bring or buy food in school and thus go to class hungry, undernourished in body and mind.
By providing them daily breakfast, we help these young ones start their day right and enable them to focus in class and excel in their studies.
Last September 2016, we have expanded Project Food for Thought to 100 more students in Pinagbuhatan Elementary School in Pasig. We are now serving fresh and healthy daily breakfast to 200 public students in two of the major public schools in Pasig City.
This is just one of the many needs we hope to address – to feed the hungry and thirsty, to help the stranger, to clothe the naked, to visit the sick and in prison, to give them hope.
With your help, we can improve the quality of life and uphold the human dignity of those living in poverty.
